When you put your house on the market you are probably hoping for a fast sale. Luckily, there are some things you can do that can help you to start seeing the offers rolling in faster and many of these things won't cost you much money, if any at all. Here are some helpful tips to help you get your house sold as quickly as possible:
Become a neat freak: When you are working with a realtor to sell your home, you never know when they may call you and tell you they have someone who is anxious to see your home and would like to come right over. If you have let your house get ahead of you and become a bit messy then you have two options: 1) You can show the house as it is and let the chips fall where they may, or 2) you can ask if they can come later and risk them finding another house they decide to buy in the mean-time. However, if you become a neat freak and keep your house immaculate at all times, then you won't find yourself in this position at all.
Fix those little things that have been bothering you: If there are little things around your house that have been bothering you, but you have been putting them off because they really aren't a big deal, then you should go ahead and take care of them when selling your home. The chances are if those little things bug you, then they may also become a focal point for those who come in to look around at your home. Something as simple as a missing knob on a kitchen drawer can stand out, and since this is so easy to fix, there's no reason for not doing so.
Do your own advertising: While your agent will have your home listed on the MLS and be doing their part in getting it seen, there is no reason why you can't pitch in and do some of your own advertising to help possibly speed things along. Tell anyone you run into who may be in the market for a new home that yours is up for sale. Tell your friends and family members to get the word out as well. Also, make good use of your social media pages and put the word out on them as well. Social media is a great way to put the word out to a lot of people without the need to spend a penny in order to do so.
